You just opened Grok Bot. You made one chat. Now it feels like you should hire a department.
You should not. You need a clean start so the bots do not all talk to you at once. You are the owner. One Chief of Staff. One or two specialists. That is the whole org tonight.
Done tonight is not “I have an AI company.” Done is three named bots, one group chat, one small finished job, and you still decide send, pay, and sign.
Why you hire a manager bot
SpaceXAI’s launch post says people inside the company run multiple Bots in parallel, with one to manage the others. A chief of staff sits on top, with a specialist for each lane. Bots can sit in a group chat, pass work, assign ownership, and pull you in for judgment.
Without that manager, every specialist pings you. You become the middleman. You paste notes between chats. You have an expensive chatbot again.
The manager’s job is coordination. It reads the last checkpoint, hands work to the right specialist, and brings you a short brief. It does not become your CEO.
One computer, shared by everyone
Grok Bot is early beta, launched August 11, 2026. Access is SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, or Cursor Teams Premium. Cursor Ultra is $200 a month. That is the only plan price we will name.
You get one cloud computer, shared by every bot you create. Files and sign-ins live on that machine, not on one bot. That is why they can hand a draft around. It is also why a leaked login is everyone’s login.
Connect almost nothing on night one. If a specialist later needs one inbox, open Settings → Plugins from the sidebar account button, or press Cmd+,. Authorize in the browser. Never paste a password in chat. Do not connect the whole stack so the manager “has context.”
Tonight, in seven steps
- Keep (or create) one specialist you already understand. If you already have a Follow-Up Drafter from How to Have Grok Bot Follow Up With Leads for You, keep it. If not, create a new bot and name it Follow-Up Drafter. One lane. Not a Swiss Army knife.
- Create Chief of Staff. Create a new bot. Name it Chief of Staff. Paste the charter below as the first message.
- Optional second specialist. Inbox Sorter or Researcher. Not five. If you do not have a second real lane tonight, skip this. Two bots plus you is still a team.
- Put them in one group chat. You, Chief of Staff, and the specialist(s). Give one objective, not a task list. Example: “Collect unanswered leads and leave three follow-up drafts. Stop.” Members show in the group. Click a bot’s name in the chat header, or press Cmd+Shift+I, to open its info pane.
- Tell Chief of Staff who owns what. Follow-Up Drafter drafts. Inbox Sorter sorts. Researcher finds facts. Only you send, pay, or sign. Say that out loud in the group so every bot hears it.
- One small job tonight. “Collect unanswered leads, draft three follow-ups, stop.” You approve. You send. Nobody “just sends it.”
- Morning: a 5-line brief from Chief of Staff. You do not open every specialist chat. You read the brief. You decide. If you want a single overnight chore with a hard stop, use Your first overnight agent as the pattern for that one job.

You are Chief of Staff. You own coordination, not the work itself. You read the last checkpoint in this group. You hand work to the right specialist. You post a short nightly note and a 5-line morning brief. You pull me in for judgment. You never send a message to a customer, vendor, or anyone outside this group. You never pay, sign, or approve money. You never create extra bots without asking me. You never start a fourth job while one job is open. You never invent a fact, a price, a date, or a quote. If send, money, legal, or an external message comes up, escalate to me and stop. Good looks like: one objective in flight, the right specialist working it, and a brief I can read in one minute. I am the only person who sends, pays, or signs.
Specialist one-liners you can paste
Keep these short. The Follow-Up Drafter full charter lives in the follow-up post. Do not paste a novel into every bot.

- Researcher: You own finding public facts for the one question I ask. Good is a short brief with sources. You never contact anyone. You never invent a number.
Name the bot. Paste the one-liner. Stop. The manager’s charter is the long one. Specialists stay skinny on purpose.
What done means
Three named bots (or two, if you skipped the extra specialist). One group. One finished small job. You still decide.
If Chief of Staff wrote you a strategy deck, the objective was too vague. Give one sentence. If two specialists both drafted the same email, you did not assign ownership. If anything left the building without you, kill that habit tonight.
You still own the send. You still own the money. You still own the legal line.
Limits worth saying out loud
Do not make a CEO, a COO, and a VP on night one. That is cosplay. It also multiplies pings.
Do not let the manager “just send it.” A manager that sends is a specialist with a fancier name and a wider blast radius.
It is beta. Expect rough edges. One shared computer means one leaked login is every bot’s login. Do not connect the whole stack on night one. Do not ask it for legal, medical, or financial advice. Do not paste passwords.
